Winter Travel
Wondering why there are so many winter travel posts on a backpacking blog? Well, travelling in the off-season is a great way to save money, and you can have some unique experiences in destinations that are typically much busier during the summer season.
While some destinations here are just as popular in the winter, such as Banff and Lake Louise in Canada, most of the places are quieter and cheaper in winter. I love travelling but hate it when I can’t enjoy somewhere because of too many tourists, crowds and queues!
If we travel to busy destinations at a different time to the majority of visitors, not only can we get a better experience but we also help to decrease overtourism and make our travels more sustainable as we’re spreading out demand on resources and helping local businesses through their quieter periods.
So, I’ve brought together a selection of posts all about travelling in winter so you can choose the best place for your winter vacation. Check out the destinations below, or browse all of my winter articles here.
