Sky Bridge 721 was one of the highlights of my trip to the Czech Republic. The 721-metre-long footbridge will take you from one mountain ridge to another, 95 metres above the valley. It opened to the public in spring 2022, and is definitely one of the best things to do in the Czech Republic!
My visit to Sky Bridge 721 was sponsored as part of the Traverse22 conference, in partnership with Czech Tourism and Visit East Bohemia. All opinions are my own.
Experience Skybridge
I admit I was nervous at first. The thought of crossing this narrow bridge (1.2m wide) for the best part of a kilometre didn’t exactly fill me with confidence. Yet, stepping onto the bridge it felt surprisingly secure.
I had expected some movement and bounce from our footsteps, or some swaying in the wind but there was none. It is sturdy, there is no doubt about that! Stretching ahead of us, over 700 metres more of the bridge dipped and then rose to the other side of the valley.

Sky Bridge 721 is one way. After passing through the entrance turnstile, you have an unlimited amount of time to spend on Sky Bridge 721 so you can take your time and enjoy the view and the experience, although on busy days I imagine you might end up moving along with the crowds.
It is impossible not to be impressed by the bridge. It’s supported by 6 main supporting ropes and 60 wind ropes of various diameters, and is remarkably stable as you walk across so I didn’t feel scared at all – although if you’re afraid of heights I wouldn’t recommend it!
The weather wasn’t great when we visited, although it was thankfully dry when we crossed the bridge. The view when it appeared from behind the clouds was stunning – it really was a bird’s eye view of the valley.

We also had a great view of the Sky Walk, the spiral construction standing out in stark contrast against the forest of trees below.
At the other end of the bridge, there is a 2km educational trail which is an easy walk back to the entrance gate of the bridge. The trail isn’t paved and has some ups and downs but if you managed to walk across the bridge you shouldn’t have any difficulty with that.
The trail also has some spectacular views of the bridge and the Sky Walk so you can see exactly where you came from, and see other tiny figures walking across as you just did a few minutes before.

The easiest way to get to Sky Bridge 721 is to drive. Dolní Morava Mountain Resort is around 3 hours’ drive from Prague.
Unfortunately, public transport isn’t great in that area and the nearest main train station is Zábřeh na Moravě which is still around 50 minutes drive away. We had a mini-bus driving our group around, so if you are travelling in a group or with your family I’d suggest either hiring a car or arranging a taxi to take you to the resort from the train station.
You can also book a tour from Prague to visit Sky Bridge, including lunch and transport from Prague to Sky Bridge 721 which could be great for couples (a minimum of 2 people is required to book the tour)

Where to Stay near Sky Bridge 721
TOP CHOICE: Wellness Hotel Vista
As the bridge is part of Dolní Morava Mountain Resort, the best option is to stay as close as you can to that, ideally inside the resort itself. We stayed at the Wellness Hotel Vista which is a few steps from the ski lift up which whisked us up to the Sky Bridge 721, the Sky Walk, ski slopes and alpine coaster.
My bedroom at the hotel was large and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the forest. There is construction work going on to build some new apartments which did impact the view a bit, but it was still gorgeous!

Dinner was buffet style with a tasty selection of dishes and delicious mini-desserts (the brownies were the stand-out favourite), and the breakfast buffet was equally good.
The hotel has a spa centre and access to the swimming pool, jacuzzi and saunas is included in your stay, and you can book additional treatments and massages for an additional fee (subject to availability).
The 4* Wellness Hotel Vista is excellent for families, with tons for the kids to enjoy from daily activities to chocolate massages, with a games room and a bowling alley, but the real draw for me was how close it is to the attractions in the resort.
BUDGET OPTION: Penzion Terezka
If you’re on a budget then check out Penzion Terezka which has more basic facilities and cheaper rooms around 15 minutes walk away, along with another free car park. We went there for lunch and the food is excellent.
I didn’t see the rooms but it gets good reviews on Booking.com. Reception for the Penzion is at the Wellness Hotel Vista so you’ll need to check in there and pick up the keys before heading down to the Penzion Terezka.
Other Things to do in Dolní Morava Mountain Resort
The Sky Bridge isn’t the only attraction at the resort, and you can easily spend a full day or weekend here and still not do everything.
The Sky Walk
The Sky Walk is another impressive structure, a 55 metre-high spiralling wooden walkway with beautiful views of the bridge and valley – although it was raining when we were up here so I didn’t linger.
There is a 100m spiral slide inside the Sky Walk to enjoy in drier weather, and at the top of the Sky Walk you can stand or sit on a net 50m above the ground – if you are brave enough!

The Alpine Coaster
Once you’ve had your fill of the gorgeous views and hiking trails, there are three ways back to the bottom of the hill – walk, take the ski lift, or the Alpine Coaster. I DEFINITELY recommend the Alpine Coaster, it was SO MUCH FUN!

A cross between a roller coaster and a go-cart, the carts are suitable for one or two people (although there is a weight limit) and I was fine in a cart by myself.
You are in control of the speed so you can go as slow or as fast as you like along the tracks. Don’t be afraid to open up the speed, there is nothing like feeling the wind in your hair as you whizz down the track with more outrageous mountain views.
The controls are simple – push forward to go faster and release the lever to slow down or stop. Do not stop on the tracks unless there is an emergency – remember there are more people coming down behind you!
My advice would be to relax and enjoy the experience, it was another highlight of my day.

Hiking and Biking
There are several hiking trails around the resort for you to enjoy, or you can hire bikes to go further afield. You’ll find biking trails suitable for every age and ability so you can make the most of the countryside whatever level you’re at.
Skiing and Snow Boarding
If you come to the Czech Republic in winter, it’s a great time to hit the slopes. Dolní Morava has 8 ski slopes of all levels as well as several restaurants where you can warm up with some tasty food and enjoy Après Ski right off the slopes.
Have a Massage
The spa at the Wellness Hotel Vista is open to non-guests so you can book to use the facilities there and book massage treatments to ease your aching body after a day outdoors. It’s recommended to book treatments in advance to guarantee availability. Check their website for details.

The Adrenaline Park
Adrenaline junkies will also have a blast here at the resort. The Big Swing is for two people at a time who get hoisted up 13 metres above ground and released into a huge swing. Alternatively, try your hand at the Powerfun free-fall jump if you’re brave enough!
There are also several climbing walls and 5 treetop adventure routes as well, suitable for several different levels of ability and confidence!
Kids’ Play Areas
If you have kids they will love it here! The resort caters very well for families and children will be entertained for hours running around the different fun parks.
Further attractions at the resort planned for the next couple of years, including a large spa and pool centre and some rental apartments.
Final Thoughts on Visiting Sky Bridge 721
This isn’t a cheap trip, so if you’re visiting the Czech Republic on a budget then you’ll need to think carefully if you can stretch to this. However, if you can it is totally worth it, for a unique experience with gorgeous views and an adrenaline rush!
While you’re in this area of the Czech Republic, I’d also recommend spending some time exploring the region and visiting some of the beautiful castles in East Bohemia.
